Working as a lawyer in Norway

As a lawyer from another country coming to Norway to practise law you have different options. The Norwegian Bar Association provides you with an overview here.

Lawyers without a licence to practise as a lawyer (or equivalent registration) from their home country may, upon application from a Norwegian principal, be permitted to work as a trainee lawyer in Norway on certain conditions:

The bond covers the lawyer's professional liability for a client's or third party's loss. The professional indemnity insurance, is the lawyer's protection.

It is important to use and keep the confirmation of assignment up to date. It regulates what you and the Client have agreed upon.
